Demon of the Week: Mbulu
The
Mbulu is an amphibian river demon originating in South
Africa. First glance would suggest that it is human, but upon
closer inspection, one would notice the scaly skin and long tail that end
in a mouth with sharp teeth and a will of its own. The Mbulu
uses disguises to blend in among people. It can be identified by
drawing out the tail which is always hungry and not under the Mbulu's
control. Even after death, the Mbulu's grave is a dangerous place.
Remains should be burned and returned to the river.
